In line with the celebration of 14th Lyceum of Alabang (LOA) Founding Anniversary, The Center Stage Singing Competition was conducted and held at LOA arcade, October 3, 5:30 PM.
Jessabel Buella from the merged College of Education and College of Criminology (EduCrim) Department, with her winning song piece, Phantom of the Opera, champed the competition with a total score of 89.3%, followed by the 1st place, Jenina Mae Cruz of Business Management Education (BME) who performed the pop song Halo, got a total score of 88.3%, and Ma. Angelica Dela Cruz of College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) performed the song “Araw Gabi” and Ryoji Akiya from BME sang the piece of “Natutulog ba ang Diyos,” both achieved a total score of 88%, grabbed the 2nd place.
“Of course, overwhelmed, hindi naman sa expected ko ‘to…. nakakataba ng puso kase maraming nanuod, especially mga professors at mga ka-department ko. Ang saya-saya, kahit hindi mas’yadong nakapag-prepared…. busy kase sa ibang activities” Buella expressed her feelings in winning the competition.
“Hindi na ako nagpalit ng song… ‘Yung phantom of the Opera, ‘yun na ang kinanta ko last time na nag-join ako ng singing contest, ‘yun na rin ang kinanta ko kanina, because of lack of preparation,” she added.
Participants who also joined the competition were Jhon Lheous Zurita of EduCrim, Von Christian Saret of CAS, Renz Mark Bautista and Anjelika Morkosa of College of Computer Studies and College of Engineering (CCSE), John Errol Macalalad and Trisha Macasaddug of College of Tourism and Hotel Management (CTHM).
Different strands from Senior High School (SHS) also participated in the singing competition.
