Give Back, Share Back: A Lycean Food Pantry

By   |  May 3, 2021

Many in our community are hurting right now. Anyone who turns on the news will see that more than any other time in recent history, people who never before needed help are now finding themselves unable to feed their families and are feeling hopeless due to the continuing pandemic.

As Filipinos and a Lycean, our core values are the strongest foundations of being human – Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa. Only one letter will define us from the rest, us being “humanE”.

As a way to aid the employees who are currently suffering the pangs of this pandemic, the Lyceum of Alabang Inc – Board of Trustees and several offices will put together our very own LOA community food pantry that will be set up starting Tuesday May 4 and until there are supplies to share.

We wanted to let you know about the food pantry in hopes that you’ll want to be part of this special blessing to our Lycean community. A difficult situation like this time brings out the best in people. Anything that you can share will be wholeheartedly appreciated.

The Lycean community food pantry “Give Back, Share Back” will provide aid to those who are in dire need. It will also share hope, spread love and bring smiles as we share our blessings in the simplest way like this pantry.

To kick off the event on Tuesday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. a simple “merienda buffet” will be set up for everyone to enjoy. Tables will also be designated for those who will be bringing in their share to the pantry. You can bring in food items or any necessities from that day onwards for the entire week.

We are stronger than ever, better than before the pandemic only proved the power of sharing and compassion. Our Lycean family is built to survive because we stand side by side together.

“The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving.” —Albert Einstein
