History

ROTCU Establishing Years

On mid July of 2006, Thru the effort of officers and Men from HARESCOM and Cpt. Danilo V. Ayap (RES)PA,School President  and CEO, The Reserve Officers Training Corps at Lyceum Alabang (Formerly National College of Science and Technology) was established as an affiliated ROTC uniot to UPHDS-Molino Campus under the operational and administrative control of 402nd ( Cavite) Community Defense Center,4th RCDG ARESCOM stationed at Camp General Mariano RIego De Dios, Tanza,Cavite.

Present Day (NSTP)

With the introduction of Republic Act 9163 (National Service Training Program), The ROTC became optional and thereby requiring female members to be inducted to the cadet corps if they choose to take ROTC. With a handful of Active/Reserve Officers   and Enlisted personnel at his disposal MAJ DOMINGO CAMPOS (INF)PA the first commandant started to enhanced the training of the unit and focusing on th development of the cadet corps until the time

Organizational and Command Structure

The LYCEUM ROTC Unit is an Organization that actually has two faes: a military organization and an academic unit. It is, in itself, a military unit under the National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group (NCRRCDG), Army Reserve Command   (ARESCOM) while it is an academic unit within the Lyceum  Alabang community because of this,The ROTC unit has dual set responsibilities- as a military training unit which trains cadets and trainees for the reserve force and as a department of the university which teaches students. While this maybe the same (since the cadets are students), the very concept of two “masters” sometimes makes reporting and functioning of responsibilities challenging if not outright conflicting.
