Name of Organization: SUPREME STUDENT COUNCIL (SSC)

Objective of the Organization:
The Supreme Student Council is the highest governing Student Body of Lyceum of Alabang. Its objective is to promote the general welfare of the students, to assert and defend the rights of the students, to advocate Academic Freedom, and ultimate to uphold its constitution.

Vision:
Supreme Student Council supports Lyceum of Alabang to harmonize faith and life with contemporary knowledge to nurture a community of distinguished and morally upright individuals who generate new knowledge from human development, social transformation to pursue morals and spiritual leadership as stipulated on the LYCEANS CORE VALUES.

Mission:
The Supreme Student council should promote the physical, intellectual, socio-cultural and spiritual well-being of the students, through relevant and sustainable programs which address their universal needs. The Student Council shall engage the student body in an environment that harness their diverse knowledge, skill and values toward social transformation. The Student Council shall reinforce and heighten the students’ sense of patriotism to produce a more committed and responsive citizenry, in order to become a resource for God and Country.

Goals:

  • To train and develop students who have potentials to be a good leader that will serve and lead the whole student body.

  • To foster good relationship and moral understanding between its subordinate organizations and the school administration in all activities the organization may undertake.

  • To sponsor trainings and seminars that would enhance and broaden the knowledge of the members of different organizations.

  • To develop camaraderie, impel involvement and promote leadership in each and every officer of this organization.

 

 

Projects and Activities:

Accomplished activities:

  1. Courtesy call to the College President.

  2. Induction Ceremony of the Recognized School Clubs and Organizations

  3. Organized the Acquaintance Party

  4. Assisted in the preparation and celebration of the Buwan ng Wika.

  5. Assisted the Academic and Student Affairs Offices in the conduct of the Foundation Week Celebration.

  6. Assisted in the Celebration and Participation on the YASDO in Muntinlupa City.

  7. Club Management Training – College Y Club Student Leaders Training – represented by SSC and at the same time YCY, attended last August 14-15, 2010 at luisa Ridge Resort, Calamba Laguna (for the officers)

  8. College Y Advisers Training- attended last August 21-22, 2010 at luisa Ridge Resort, Calamba Laguna (for the advisers)

  9. Oratorical Contest – joined by Mr. Val Vinalon

  10. 35th YMCA National Congress of College Students Seminar-Workshop – attended last December 8-12, 2010 at Senior Mess, Teacher’s Camp. Baguio City in partnership with the CYC.

  11. 15th YMCA National Campus Club Adviser’s Seminar- Workshop – Attended last December 8-12, 2010 at Senior Mess, Teacher’s Camp. Baguio City.
